You see something, a humanoid something, in the corner of your eye, you turn your head and it darts behind cover. Shadow people. We have all heard of them one way or another. There have been many different theories on what exactly shadow people are and thanks to a new discovery by scientists this year (Fox News, CNN), we can some new juice to these theories. What is this discovery? Cloaking of 3D objects. Yes, cloaking, like in Star Trek.
According to scientists, they can cloak a 3d object by using microwaves and special material that bends light.
Now, because of the eye’s oblong shape, when light travels through the corner of the eye it actually has to travel through more of the cornea and hits the lens at slightly different angle. Since shadow people are seen out of the corner of the eye, it is entirely plausible that they are cloaked and that you are seeing some of the bent light they generated.
How the shadow people came to posses this technology or where/when they are from, or even if they actually do exist, is still a mystery. However, you might have to think twice the next time you see a shadow in the corner of your eye.
